1.1 WCT (West Coast Trail)
Do I look well prepared? To be honest, I am a bit nervous and anxious before hitting the trail on July 4th.
Pedestrians Bridge in Kamloops
This is one of my favoriate photos from this trip. You know why? Do I look much slimmer here? Well, I just got out of the West Coast Trail. After 7 days exhausting trekking, it does make sense to lose a couple of pounds. Cathy shall take most of the credit. She was the photographer.Relax in this lovely town - Kamloops
In front of the most spectacular Columbia Icefield
"SonCoach" tour on the Athabasca Glacier - once in your lifetime experience! It may be even more exciting if you take the trail trekking all the way up to the top of the glacier
Maligne Lake - it's said to be the second largest glacial lake in the world.
The world-famous landmark of Spirit Island on Maligne Lake. Need to take cruise or canoe to get there
Maraine Lake & Valley of Ten Peaks
The emerald green lake is so peaceful, set right before a backdrop of the sharp peaks!
Medicine Lake - a most peculiar Lake
The Maligne River flows but there is no surface outlet. The water level fluctuates due to an underground drainage system. In summer the lake rises but in winter, the lake disappear
Have a break and enjoy the spectacular views on the summit of the Whistlers
Do I look cool? Standing at the top of a big rock on the summit of the Whistlers. It's quite a good "entertainment" to hike from the Jasper Tramway upper terminal to the summit.
Takakkaw Falls, Yoho National Park
Sunwapta Falls
Here the Sunwapta River abruptly changes its course from NW to SW and plunges into a limestome gorge rather like Maligne Canyon. Sunwapta means "turbulent river" from the days when only aboriginal peoples moved through these valleys
Athabasca Falls
The Athabasca River is funneled into a narrow canyon cut in hard, quarte-rich sandstone rock. Athabasca means "the place where the bulrushes grow"
