意大利 • 金秋艳阳下(一)


1.1 前记&行程


远方以远,总有新奇的东西在吸引我,让我无法按捺想上路的心。

世界这么大,有趣的事情那么多,我想知道,在那遥远的地方,人们是如何的生活,还有那么多美丽的风景,未知的一切,我想去体验,去认知。

天地之大,而人生苦短。如果一生中看不到地中海的蔚蓝,仰望不到喜马拉雅的巍峨,体味不了非洲草原上Safari的壮阔,如果...... 那么人生该少了多少乐趣!

于是,又孤身上路了,奔向心目中向往已久的欧洲文明的圣地 - 意大利,在金秋的艳阳下。




行程 Italy Itinerary (10/9 - 10/25,2009):

10/9 (D0) - Depart Toronto (Air Transat 21:15PM)

10/10 (D1) - Arrive Venice early afternoon

10/11 (D2) - Full day to explore Venice, one of the few cities in the world that can be truly described as unique. Over an extra-ordinarily long period, the city was embellised with monuments of rare splendour that today make it a town like no other in the entire world.

10/12 (D3) - Take early morning train to Verona, for an enjoyable time in the city of Romeo and Juliet. Then travel by evening train to Milan.

10/13 (D4) - Milan at a glance in the morning. In the afternoon head south to the Ligurian coast and the beautiful Cinque Terre, five little villages built into the rocks between the beach and the hills.

10/14 (D5) - Cinque Terre: Hike, drink wine, and watch amazing Mediterranean sunsets. Follow the centuries old footpaths and mule tracks that lead through olive groves, vineyards, orchards and chestnut woods.

10/15 (D6) - Travel along the coast by train to Lucca, stopping off for a couple of hours to visit the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, before heading to pretty Lucca, in the heart of Tuscany. Late afternoon train to Florence.

10/16 (D7) - Travel by bus to Siena, one of Italy's most preserved medieval towns. Wander the streets and enjoy the many treasures of its Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Then bus to San Gimignano, the magical and quintessential medieval hilltop twon.

10/17 (D8) - Full day to wander Florence, Tuscan capital that inspired the fathers of Italian Art and gave birth to the Italian language and the Italian Renaissance. Overnight train to Salerno.

10/18 (D9) - Arrive Salerno in the early morning, then take train to visit Paestum, the temples there are absolutely fantastic. Afternoon bus to Amalfi, then to Sorrento.

10/19 (D10) - Full day to enjoy the stunning photogenic Amalfi Coast: visit Ravello, Amalfi,and Positano.

10/20 (D11) - Ferry to the Island Capri, a perfect microcosm of Mediterranean appeal. Of course, never miss the stunning sea cave (Grotta Azzurra) illuminated by otherworldly blue light.

10/21 (D12) - Visit the forgotten city of Pompei - famous for being "frozen in time" from the eruption of nearby Mt. Vesuvio (the only active volcano on the European mainland), which buried the cisty in ash for thousands of years. Early Afternoon take bus to Mt. Vesuvio, and hike up for a breathtaking view of the Bay of Napolio. Travel by train to Napolio in the late afternoon.

10/22 (D13) - Glance Napolio on foot. Afternoon train to Rome.

10/23 - 10/24 (D14-15) - Explore Rome, the bustling and buzzing Italian capital, an intoxicating mix of art, culture, espresso, football, delicious cuisine and unbeatable style. 

10/25 (D16) - Last chance to see this city. Do not forget to stop for a delicious latte and ice cream. Afternoon flight back to Toronto (Air Transat - 9:45pm arrive Toronto).

Browsed through Bolivia chapter and Sccotland chapter. Haven't read through them yet, but love the scenes from your pictures already.
